Registered Office vs Directors’ Service Address

A registered office address is a legal requirement for all companies and must be situated in the country that the company is registered. This address is where any correspondence for the company will be sent. For example, letters from Companies House, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). Official and legal documents will be served at this address.

The directors’ service address is where documents sent to you in your position as director of the company will be delivered. The address will be made public on the Companies House website. Many people operating their company from their residential address opt to use a director’s service address facility which provides an alternative address.

Any correspondence received will be scanned and emailed to you on the day it arrives. At your request, these can be forwarded to you at a selected UK address.

Alternatively, 1st Choice Incorporations can offer you a mail forwarding service. For £200 your company can receive official and non-official mail (for example, bank correspondence) at our Cambridge or London address. Your mail will be forwarded to you via email and can be posted to an alternative address of your choosing. Letters to be redirected to an international address will cost an additional £4 per letter.
